Provider verification

MyPlacementHub distinguishes clearly between information the platform checks and information providers declare. Understanding that difference is essential to using the platform safely.

What MyPlacementHub checks

These checks are performed by the platform before a provider profile becomes visible to local authority users, and are repeated when registration details change.

  • Provider organisation identity, including legal name and company registration details where applicable
  • The relevant regulator for the service and jurisdiction, where the service is regulated
  • The registration identifier supplied by the provider
  • Regulatory registration status against the regulator’s published record, where applicable
  • The published regulatory rating, where one exists
  • The date on which regulatory information was last checked

Timestamped

Where regulatory information is displayed, the platform records and shows Regulatory information last checked: [date], so commissioning teams can see how current the check is.

What providers declare

This information is supplied, maintained and reconfirmed by the provider. MyPlacementHub does not independently verify it.

  • Current vacancies and the number of places available
  • Needs supported and any exclusions
  • Age ranges accepted
  • Service description and operational detail
  • Urgent, same-day or out-of-hours availability
  • Referral contact information
  • Other operational information supplied by the provider
Availability shown on MyPlacementHub is provider-declared and provider-maintained. It is displayed with its latest confirmation timestamp and is never described as an independently verified vacancy.

Regulatory information

Not every service type carries the same regulator, and not every service is rated. Published regulatory information is shown neutrally and does not imply endorsement of the provider or of MyPlacementHub.

Where a regulator publishes an official record for a service, the service profile can link to that record so commissioning teams can check the source directly.

Rechecking

Regulatory information is reviewed periodically and whenever a provider changes their registration details. A fixed recheck frequency has not yet been agreed; it will be set with pilot participants and published here once operationally confirmed.

What verification means — and what it does not

Verification means

  • The organisation’s identity has been checked
  • The registration identifier matches a published regulator record, where applicable
  • The registration status and any published rating shown came from that record on the date displayed

Verification does not mean

  • MyPlacementHub endorses or recommends the provider
  • MyPlacementHub guarantees the quality of the service
  • MyPlacementHub guarantees that a declared vacancy is accurate or still available
  • The service is suitable for a particular individual
  • A regulator endorses MyPlacementHub

Suitability, safeguarding assessment and the placement decision remain with the responsible local authority.

Report inaccurate information

If registration details, a regulatory rating, an address, availability or a service record looks wrong, tell us. Reports are reviewed by an administrator. Regulatory information is never changed automatically because a report has been submitted.
